This Spanish Colonial courtyard home in Scottsdale is located the Arcadia District of Silverleaf, on a lot that borders lush desert open space. A spacious central courtyard anchors the design, oriented to capture open views to the north and serve as the heart of the home. The architectural concept balances authenticity and restraint—drawing from Spanish Colonial tradition on the exterior, while introducing a clean, contemporary sensibility within.
The living and great rooms are positioned on adjacent sides of the courtyard, with a covered dining loggia opening directly from the kitchen. The kitchen, with its full-height tile walls, generous bank of refrigeration units, and corner window, evokes the atmosphere of a European boulangerie or patisserie. A well-appointed butler’s pantry sits between the kitchen and dining room, offering discreet storage that supports the open-shelved aesthetic. From the master bathroom, the spa and pool loggia are accessed directly and flow into a private enclosed bathing garden. The living room’s large steel sash window and door unit opens to a pool that stretches toward the desert landscape beyond.
The main level includes both the primary suite and a second bedroom accessed from the pool courtyard—ideal for use as an attached guest casita or a private retreat for an older child. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms and a small but charming loggia complete the bedroom program.
Finishes throughout include authentic three-coat plaster walls—interior and exterior—and beamed ceilings in primary living spaces, including the master suite.
