Anchored into the northern slope of Camelback Mountain, Âme Bohème is a custom Paradise Valley luxury estate that harmonizes Mediterranean and Ibiza-inspired architecture with the crisp, modern lines of desert living.
The long and narrow site posed numerous challenges to implementing an archetypal Ibiza design approach: the long axis of the site ran north-south, and the prized views were also to the north and south, meaning that sections of large fenestration needed to be arranged along the site’s narrow dimension – with the requirement to have the majority of those openings fully pocketing compounding the issue. While the legal classification of the site as “hillside” did constrain exterior material selections to “low-LRV”, it did allow the structure’s height to follow the original topography of the site, which was a huge benefit to the layout, rhythm, and architectural composition of the residence.
The spatial layout is organized around a dramatic central pool courtyard stepped directly into the hillside contour. Shaded banco seating, integrated stone terraces, and a separate lower pool house extend the home’s living spaces outdoors, framing panoramic, unobstructed views across the Paradise Valley desert horizon. Expansive sliding glass walls allow interior gathering zones to dissolve effortlessly into these resort-style outdoor loggias.
Inside, the material palette emphasizes quiet, tactile luxury through a soft micro-cement finish, layered wood beam ceilings, and handcrafted plaster niches. Thick exterior masonry walls and deeply inset fenestrations provide crucial passive shading and privacy, while high-volume ceilings cast changing ambient light across natural textures throughout the day.
Beyond its primary living quarters, the estate features private guest wings with independent access points, a dedicated butler’s pantry, and an expansive rooftop terrace designed for evening entertaining. Every detail—from custom stone masonry joints to soft-toned limewash surfaces—reinforces a calm, refined atmosphere rooted in material authenticity and site-sensitive execution.
More than a residence, Âme Bohème stands as a premier expression of contemporary desert modernism, celebrated as a marquee showcase home during Desert Design Week in Spring 2026 in Spring 2026 and reflecting SPIRAL ARCHITECTS’ dedication to timeless, resort-inspired living.
